Identifying middle ear disorders is often difficult. The relevant structures are hidden behind the eardrum, out of sight and hard to assess. Traditional otoscopy relies on visual inspection and subjective judgment, which can sometimes overlook subtle signs or give limited information.
At Acoustic Insight, we develop an advanced and user friendly otoscope. It allows physicians to examine the middle ear beyond the surface of the eardrum and to investigate the mobility of the hearing bones – all in real time! Using the measuring capabilities of our OCT-based otoscope, physicians can quantify anatomical and functional features or each patient’s middle ear. It also enables clinicians to find abnormalities and monitor subtle changes over time.
Real-time OCT imaging.
Measure the thickness of the tympanic membrane and distances between middle ear structures.
Measure the mobility of the ossicular chain and locate fixations.
Differentiate between soft tissues.
We offer our OCT platform to clinics and research institutions eager to explore this novel imaging technology. Our product is under development and not yet medically certified, it is strictly intended for investigation and research purposes.
